Female intimate contour plasty
Intimate contour plasty involves surgery on female external genitalia to improve their aesthetic appearance. The most widespread surgery types are correction of outer and inner lips. They are intended to remove the excess skin and aesthetic defects. Such surgery does not cause reduction in genitalia sensitivity. It can even result in sensitivity increase. It is generally believed that female intimate contour looks attractive if the outer lips cover the inner ones, or if inner lips protrude beyond the labia majora (for 1 cm approximately).
About intimate contour plasty:
Intimate contour plasty is completely painless and performed using small incisions. It can be helpful in achieving such results as increase of lips volume (both inner and outer). It is necessary if a congenital or acquired asymmetry is observed. Elasticity and density of tissues can be restored by this procedure.
Often labia stretch or deform because of rapid weight loss after childbirth. Their natural shape can be restored using special fillers. If, on the contrary, it is required to reduce labia size a liposuction procedure takes place. It is frequently combined with abdominoplasty.
If a woman experiences constant dryness it is possible to restore wetness of the mucosal surface and enhance tissue nutrition using hyaluronic acid. A few days before the procedure it is necessary to remove hair from the bikini line using any convenient epilation method.
Local anesthesia is applied for skin pain relief. Fillers are injected to the points which are subject to correction.
Scar correction after childbirth. It might happen that during delivery many cuts or ruptures have been closed with sutures. Eventually, scars can form there and affect intimate life greatly. Such scars lead to vagina widening and vaginal wall prolapse. Intimate plasty allows removing these scars, lifting of tissues, stitching of ruptured muscles.
Plastic surgery can resolve a problem of the womb falling outside of the vagina. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia.
Preparation to intimate contour plasty:
No special preparations or examinations are required before intimate contour plasty. In the course of a consultation with a surgeon the actual problems are discussed and an individual plan for their correction is generated. If it is planned to combine intimate contour plasty with other plastic surgery types a comprehensive clinical examination is ordered.
It includes biochemical blood and urine tests, ECG, X-ray examination. An additional examination is carried out by a gynecologist who makes a conclusion regarding possible contraindications. An anesthesiologist’s advice is also necessary to identify possible allergic reactions and take measures to avoid them.

Postoperative period:
Most female intimate contour plasty procedures are outpatient and do not require to stay at the clinic. Recovery period takes a few weeks. In a day after surgery a patient can return to her routine but it is important to avoid intense physical activities for 2 weeks.
Sometimes discomfort and swelling can be experienced at the labia region. These symptoms subside in a few days and require no particular treatment. It is recommended to refrain from intercourse for 2-3 days after intimate plasty. Visiting sauna should be avoided as well. Effect from fillers can be observed in a few days and continues for a whole year. Then, the procedure can be repeated.
